Welcome to Georgetown Lunch Rotary Club.

We are proud of our accomplishments and the service we provide within our Rotary organization  and in our Community.

Our club was organized on June 7, 1938 and was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sumter.  There were 25 charter members and Ralph M. Ford, a long-time Georgetonian and businessman, served as the charter President of the Club.  Today, several family descendants of those original charter members continue to proudly serve as Rotarians in this club.

Our club has helped the Rotary organization grow in Georgetown County and has sponsored several Rotary Clubs:

  • Andrews Rotary Club in 1967
  • Pawleys Island Rotary Club in 1977
  • Georgetown Breakfast Rotary in 1986

The Rotary organization today is flourishing.  There are more than 33,000 clubs, and about 1.2 million members.  There are 531 districts in oer 200 countries/geographic areas throughout the world.  Our Club is in District 7770 which is comprised of 80 clubs with approximately 5,000 members.  District 7770 covers Columbia, S.C. to the coast of our state.

Georgetown-Lunch Rotary Club has received many accolades over the years.  Rotary clubs have goals for each year, with the criteria set by the President of Rotary International and also by each District Governor.  Our Club has earned both the Rotary Presidential Citation and the Governor's Citation for consistently meeting the goals for the past several years.

We recognize that there are many privileges associated with our Rotary membership, including the opportunity to develop lasting friendships with civic leaders throughout our community, the state, and the world.  With such priviliges come obligations in Rotary to give of our time and talents in community work, in fellowship and social functions, and in club and district activities.  If you look around our website, you will see some of the many service projects  that our Club is supporting and participating in at the local, state, and international level.   The Georgetown Lunch Rotary Club remains committed to "Get involved, stay involved."  Rotary is in the "helping people" business.  We want to continue to be a successful partner with other Rotarians in this District and in the world to help our community and help people.
